Pet*Master Equine "Pine Stall" Horse Bedding
|
| |
Dear
SBC Pet*Master
I own and run a small equestrian boarding and training facility and am always
looking for products that work well with my horses. I was at my local feed
store when I saw your new stall bedding product. After reading up on it,
I decided to give it a try. The stall bedding pellets worked very well.
It was easy to handle, stall cleaning took less time, the stall floors stayed
drier (as did the horses feet), and there was very little odor.

I
have used SBC Pet*Master wood pellets in my litter pan for my cats and ferrets
for a long time, and had often wondered why these would not also work in
my horse stalls. Since yours is 100% natural wood product (I would never
add anything with chemicals to my stalls), I decided to give it a try. To
my surprise, it worked as well as the other product I had purchase
and
it costs less!! |

Using
your wood pellets in my stalls has cut my product, labor and haul costs
by 1/3. Keeping the stalls drier helps keep "thrush" problems
under control. Living in Washington with all our rain, it was hard to keep
the fir shavings dry. The 40-pound bags are easy to handle and take up very
little room in my barn. Not having to build a "shaving bin" or
crawl under tarps is a bonus. |

I
start out with a clean stall and add 4 bags of pellets. Spraying the pellets
lightly with water softens them up so as to make a soft place for the horse
to lay. Each day, I pick out the wet spot and piles of manure. As the pellets
soften and break down they increase in volume, so when you start out with
4 bags, you may think you don't have enough bedding, but in a few days,
you have more than enough. After about 5 days, I add and mix in an additional
bag of pellets more often, each stall is on an individual basis. Your pellets
have worked for my horses ranging from my ex-race horse that walks circles,
to my nice, neat, tidy gray mare. |

I
am excited to have found a product that works well with horses, is user
friendly and is so cost effective. Thank you!!! |

Dear
SBC Pet*Master:
Just wanted
to let you know what a great product your SBC Pet*Master pellets are. They've
shortened the amount of time it takes me to clean a stall as well as cutting
down on the amount of manure I'm hauling out.

The
stalls stay fresher, I use less bedding and the pine smell seems to keep
everything smelling fresh. Four bags last me about 3 weeks. Once the pellets
break down a little bit the horse has a nice bed. It only takes a few hours
to get the nice sawdust, which expands as it absorbs moisture. I rarely
need to strip a stall like I used to do about once every 2 weeks. The cost
per unit of material is less expensive and the timesavings alone make this
product very appealing. |

Good
luck in your venture. You have my support!
Sincerely, Karen Pickering, the Northwest Horse Source, Blaine, Washington
